A man-made wave
The reef was constructed by our team of engineers. A long left that barrels with swell, but is still friendly enough for beginners.
Lunch in front of the surf, dinner under the stars
La Ola sits on the sand in front of the reef, an open pavilion of timber and thatch where the day runs from bare feet and long lunches to candles and the sound of the waves after dark.

The untouched Xala coastline makes the perfect landscape for a quiet beach walk.
Bike through the wild forest
Xala's trails run from the palm flats into the foothills, dirt roads through the orchards and hand-cut singletrack through the dry tropical forest. Ride out in the cool of the morning; be back at La Ola before the heat of the day.
Courts, water and wheels
Tennis, pickleball, padel and basketball courts sit within the community, along with a soccer field. On the water, kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding run through the bay and the estuary. Mornings tend to start early and end at the beach club.

Set within Xala's landscape, the farm is a working expression of the way the community approaches the land. Produce is grown on-site and brought directly into Xala's kitchens, creating a genuine farm-to-table connection between what is grown here and what is served here. Beyond food, the farm is part of daily life at Xala: a place to walk through, learn from, gather, and understand the rhythms of the land. It makes something increasingly rare feel completely natural: knowing where your food comes from because it was grown just down the road.
The lighthouse at the northern headland
El Faro sits where the sierra meets the sea, the end of a ride, a walk or a long afternoon, and one of the few places on the property where you can see the whole coastline at once.
Designed by the artist Gonzalo Lebrija and guided by the golden ratio, it works as a nautical navigation aid, a contemporary sculpture, a cultural landmark and an art gallery.
